Worked on Chapter 5 today which takes place during one of Andy’s shifts at ManCave Outfitters.
ManCave. Where do I come up with these names? It’s just so cheesy but, hey, it really worked to set the tone of the scene I wrote this afternoon, so I’m glad I’d dropped that detail about Andy working there back in Browning’s Promise.
This chapter is also taking me back to my retail management days. I started it with Andy building one of those cardboard standee displays. This one for bug spray. (Also really fitting since one of her co-workers is bugging the hell out of her.) But, yeah, I used to have to build those damn things all the time at my old video store job. This is totally dating me, but I remember having to build two displays for Titanic when it came out for rental because that flick was a double-taper on VHS. Yep, VHS. Back in the olden times ?.
